In 1992 I was diagnosed with chronic kidney-inflammation, glomerulonephritis. (Proven by biopsy at a later date). I was told that there was no medicine that could cure the disease. So I had to live with the inflammation and treat the symptoms. The symptoms were high blood pressure and protein and blood in the urine. My kidneys were gradually destroyed. In 2003 I ended up with stroke as a result of high blood pressure, but fortunately I got no after-effect. For years I tried out “the most" within alternative treatment, and finally I gave up trying something new. It belongs to the story that I used fish-oil for 10 years. Summer of 2006 would prove to be a turning point for me. I overheard a conversation about krill and the food supplement Krilex that someone with an illness different from mine used with good results. I got a very strange instinctive feeling that this might be something for me. But I quickly defeated the idea, I had tried different things for 14 years and this was probably just another desperate idea from someone that dreamed of becoming healed with a miracle. But the gut instinct or good feeling would not leave me, and I ended up buying Krilex. But this time I would not tell anyone. I would just take the capsules without saying a word. I had just informed everybody that I was not at all open for any more “good advices”. But by nature, I'm not gifted with blind faith. I "googled" everything I could find on research on krill. I ended up by buying another product that was extracts from krill. But the results failed to come. Now, I really didn’t want to try anything else. Now it was enough. Every morning when I opened the cupboard to take my medicine, the bottles of Krilex “looked” at me. So, I decided to finish the bottles, but no more after that. I had no expectations. I only took the product as a matter of routine together with the other medicines. Weeks passed, and after four months my husband commented that it was a long time since I had been in hospital - "you must have a good period now." Yes, in fact I felt that I had a good period. I measured my blood pressure and it was actually pretty good. I measured the urine and then the shock came, almost no blood or protein in the urine - this had not happened in 14 years -. Two months later the urine was completely free of blood and proteins which I had had constantly for 14 years. I could not believe it. I contacted a national institute that I knew did research on seafood and nutrition. I asked if my improvement in health could be due to krill or whether it was most likely that it was due to fluctuations in the disease cycle. To my surprise I received a response where they, amongst other things, said that they would not be surprised and wouldn’t consider it unlikely, if it should turn out that krill has been a contributing cause to my health improvement, although they of course couldn’t say anything definitely. My health is still good, but there is no guarantee - so it is in all humility I tell my story. If Krilex has had a positive effect on my illness, there is no guarantee that it has the same effect on others. But I still choose to tell my story, because I know how it is to live with chronic disease, and if my story can help just one person it's worth it. I also want to give a big thank to the company that produces Krilex for letting me import Krilex to Norway. |
